The Swiff & Span mission — Columbus, Ohio
Hire a cleaning company. Fund a childhood.
A portion of every contract supports Columbus youth organizations serving children facing homelessness and poverty in Franklin County. That's not a campaign. It's the company.
Who this is for
The kids this is for live minutes from the buildings we clean.
We're not going to stack this page with statistics. You live here — you already know what's true. There are children in Columbus and across Franklin County growing up in shelters, in motels, doubled up on relatives' couches — carrying more uncertainty before third grade than most adults face in a decade. Homelessness and poverty are not abstractions to a kid. They are the whole sky.
Those kids ride the same buses and sit in the same classrooms as everyone else's. They deserve more than a city full of businesses that call themselves "local" and never let it cost them anything.
The model
A cleaning invoice is a small thing. Signed month after month, across a whole city, it stops being small.
That's the entire idea behind Swiff & Span. We are a for-profit company, unapologetically — profit is what makes a promise durable. But this business was built from day one so that a portion of every contract supports Columbus youth organizations serving children facing homelessness and poverty in Franklin County. Not a holiday toy drive. Not a checkout round-up. Not one "giving season" post a year. The default setting of the business.
It costs our clients nothing extra and asks nothing of them. It isn't a program bolted onto the side of the company — it's written into who we are. You hire the measured clean; the mission comes standard, like the documentation.
No fine print
How it works. All of it.
Three steps. No enrollment form, no premium tier, no asterisk. This is the entire mechanism.
A Contract Is Signed
A dental operatory, a clinic, an office floor, an Airbnb turnover — any service line, any account size. The moment the ink dries, the commitment is live. There's no opt-in box because it isn't optional.
A Portion Is Set Aside — Every Month
A portion of that contract is set aside, month after month, for as long as the account runs. Not year-end leftovers if things go well — a standing commitment, built into how the company operates.
It Goes to Columbus Kids
The set-aside goes to Columbus youth organizations serving children facing homelessness and poverty in Franklin County. Your invoice goes to work a few miles from your facility — not at a national franchise office in another state.
Not a campaign — a practice
Every contract already funds real work, done by real Columbus organizations.
We run this company on proof, not promises — we hand clients instrument readings instead of adjectives, and our mission gets the same rigor. The set-aside from every contract goes to organizations already doing direct, unglamorous work with kids facing homelessness and poverty in Franklin County — not a single logo bolted onto our homepage for polish, but ongoing support for the people doing the work on the ground here in Columbus.
We didn't wait for a press release to start. The giving began the way the company did — quietly, month after month, standing behind people already inside this work: youth shelters, family-stability programs, and mentorship organizations across Franklin County. As Swiff & Span grows, so does the number of Columbus organizations we support.

A note from the owner
Why this is personal.
I didn't start a cleaning company because I dreamed about floors. I started it because I wanted to build something in Columbus that actually belongs to Columbus — and I decided on day one that part of every invoice would go back to this city's kids.
I won't dress that up with a dramatic backstory. It doesn't need one. There are children in Franklin County growing up without the stability most of us were handed for free, and I own a company that generates revenue every single month. Pointing part of that at those kids — permanently, structurally, not as a mood — is the most obvious decision I've ever made as an owner.
Every contract makes the commitment bigger. So if you're a client: thank you. You're already part of this, whether you knew it or not.

Run — or know — a Columbus organization serving kids?
We're always looking to stand behind more of them. The next organization we support won't come from a search result — it'll come from someone who's seen the work up close. Send us the name, and why them. We read every single nomination.
